Several Senegalese players are reported to be at the centre of late transfer-window moves in the European market. They include Pape Matar Sarr, Boulaye Dia, Elimane Tamara and Ibrahima Mbaye.

According to information relayed by Senego, Pape Matar Sarr is set to leave Tottenham for Juventus. Boulaye Dia and Elimane Tamara, meanwhile, are reportedly being tracked by several clubs.

A reported move to Aston Villa

Ibrahima Mbaye is also reportedly set to leave Paris Saint-Germain for Aston Villa. The transfer is said to be valued at €55 million and to include a five-year contract.

Arouna Deme’s view

Speaking on Sud FM, sports journalist Arouna Deme believes the interest shown in these international players offers encouraging prospects for Senegalese football. He says joining major clubs could enable the players concerned to secure playing time and develop.

In his view, the proposed club changes could therefore represent an opportunity for the Senegal national team, provided they result in greater sporting responsibilities for the players.
