The Minister of Employment, Vocational and Technical Training, Idrissa Samb, presented the Daara-Atelier project in Kaolack to the General Khalife of Fayda Tidjania, Cheikh Mouhamadou Mahi Niass.

The initiative aims to enable young talibés to acquire professional skills in preparation for employment. In the Kaolack region, the planned scheme is to offer training in refrigeration and air conditioning, metalwork, poultry farming and agri-food processing.

Sectors linked to local potential

The selected fields are presented as promising and suited to the area's potential. The project therefore combines vocational training with activities such as poultry farming and agri-food processing, while also incorporating technical trades including air conditioning and metalwork.

Continuity with the Tivaouane component

The presentation in Kaolack follows on from the Daara-Atelier project already mentioned in Tivaouane. In that city, a vocational training scheme had been linked to funding of 700 million CFA francs.

The sectors announced for Tivaouane partly differed from those planned for Kaolack: they included sewing, electricity, agri-food processing and metalwork. Idrissa Samb's visit to the General Khalife of the Tidianes there took place on 24 August 2026, ahead of the Maouloud.
