A robbery was reported at a money transfer outlet in the Nguinth district of Thiès, on the Deux-Voies route. Several armed individuals allegedly burst into the business before leaving with cash and belongings belonging to the manager.
According to initial reports, the assailants were carrying pistols and allegedly fired warning shots upon arrival. The manager and those present reportedly offered no resistance.
The perpetrators reportedly fled by vehicle
After taking the money and belongings, the robbers allegedly left the scene in a vehicle. The amount taken and the value of the stolen items were not known at the time of the initial findings.
An investigation has been opened
Alerted after the incident, the National Police went to the scene to secure the area and search for possible clues. The investigation is expected, in particular, to identify the members of the group, locate the vehicle used and clarify the circumstances of the attack.
