In Jaxaay, jobs and education are at the heart of young people’s concerns

In Jaxaay, residents’ concerns are not limited to sanitation issues. Access to healthcare, education and, above all, job prospects weigh heavily on the situation of young people in the municipality.

The lack of professional opportunities is one of the difficulties highlighted locally. This situation is increasing expectations for measures that could improve young people’s integration into the workforce and their living conditions.

Initiatives led by youth stakeholders

In response to these challenges, association and student leaders are seeking to support their peers. Astou Kébé, president of the Youth Consultative Council of the Keur Massar department, and Lamine Diagne, president of pupils and students in the municipality of Jaxaay, are among those involved in this effort.
