Fatma Diouf Samoura appointed chair of Seed Project’s board of directors

Fatma Diouf Samoura has been appointed chair of the board of directors of Seed Project, a sports and education academy based in Thiès. The organisation was founded by Amadou Gallo Fall.

According to the statement released by Seed Project, her arrival marks a step in the organisation’s transformation and development through 2030. The academy highlights the experience gained by the former FIFA Secretary General, as well as her leadership abilities at the highest level.

Expected support for governance

Seed Project believes its new board chair will be able to help strengthen the organisation’s governance. The project is also counting on her to support the acceleration of its impact among African youth.

In comments cited in the statement, Fatma Diouf Samoura said she wanted to work with the founder, the board and the entire Seed community. She identified strengthening governance, deepening the programme’s impact and building a model capable of inspiring sports and education institutions across the continent as priorities.

Sport, education and leadership training

The new leader stressed that Seed Project has already demonstrated, in her view, the results that can be achieved when sporting excellence is combined with education and strong values. In the academy’s vision, this combination should help train young leaders.

The appointment comes as Seed Project seeks to consolidate its organisation and expand the reach of its sports and education model in Africa.
