Rain is possible before 8 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, in 29 Senegalese localities, including Dakar. The South and South-East show the most favourable conditions, with locally heavy rainfall possible.
A risk of rain has been forecast in several areas of Senegal this Monday, August 31, 2026, before 8 p.m. Dakar is among the 29 localities concerned, while showers sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms are possible in the Centre, South, South-East and part of the West.
The expected rainfall is not likely to be of the same intensity or duration across all areas. Some locations may see only a few showers, while more active thunderstorms remain possible elsewhere.
The western coast and Centre affected
In the west of the country, the risk of rain concerns Dakar, Rufisque, Sébikotane, Thiès, Tivaouane and Mbour. The afternoon is seen as a favourable period for the development of showers and thunderstorms due to atmospheric instability.
In the Centre, the localities of Diourbel, Touba, Fatick, Kaolack, Kaffrine and Koungheul are also listed among areas where rainfall may occur.
The South and South-East more exposed
The most favourable indications for rain concern the South and South-East. Kédougou, Kolda, Sédhiou and Ziguinchor should be monitored in particular, with a risk of locally heavy rainfall.
Cap Skirring, Bignona, Oussouye, Goudomp and Vélingara are also concerned. In these areas, weather conditions could change rapidly and take the form of brief spells of rain.
Risk also present in the east
In the east, attention is focused on Tambacounda, Bakel, Koumpentoum, Salémata, Saraya and Goudiry. Saré Sadio and Koubanao complete the list of localities where a spell of rain remains possible before the evening.
