Yeumbeul: Four people detained in investigation into alleged harassment and endangerment
Four people have been detained as part of an investigation by the Yeumbeul-Comico police station, according to Senego. The inquiry concerns, among other allegations, sexual harassment, criminal association and endangering the lives of others.
The Yeumbeul-Comico police station has opened an investigation that led to the detention of four people, Senego reports. The allegations under examination include suspected criminal association, sexual harassment, unnatural acts, deliberate HIV transmission and endangering the lives of others.
A complaint sparked the investigation
The case began on 29 August 2026 following a report by a 39-year-old man. He says he was contacted on WhatsApp by an 18-year-old student who allegedly offered him sexual relations.
According to the initial information reported, a meeting was then allegedly arranged near the police station, where a first detention took place. Information gathered during police custody reportedly led investigators to arrest three other people in Yeumbeul, Keur Massar and Diass.
Analysis of seized phones
Investigators are examining mobile phones seized as part of the proceedings. WhatsApp and Messenger exchanges reportedly revealed a network of contacts, according to Senego's account.
The individuals implicated were questioned separately in officially recorded interviews. Some reportedly acknowledged sexual relations, while others are said to dispute part of the allegations. The investigation is continuing to establish individual responsibility, particularly regarding the most serious charges cited in the proceedings.
