In Ziguinchor, Yankhoba Diémé reaffirms his commitment alongside Bassirou Diomaye Faye
During a visit to Ziguinchor, Yankhoba Diémé said his trip was intended in particular to help organise the Kiiiray party in southern Senegal. He also rejected accusations of betrayal linked to his political stance.
Welcomed upon his arrival at Ziguinchor airport, Yankhoba Diémé reaffirmed his support for President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. According to the information reported, the visit was presented as an opportunity to establish contact and a step towards political structuring, rather than an initiative carried out in isolation.
The meeting was attended by several government officials from the region, including Djireye Clotilde Coly and the Minister of Public Service. Yankhoba Diémé called for collective mobilisation around the Head of State's actions.
Responding to criticism over his political realignment
The minister also addressed reactions to his commitment alongside Bassirou Diomaye Faye, particularly on social media. He rejected the accusations of betrayal made against him.
Referring to his exchanges with the Casamance executives' collective, he recalled having played a role within the organisation between 2018 and 2024. He described his political choice as the result of a conviction about Senegal's future and highlighted the qualities he attributes to the President of the Republic.
Structuring Kiiiray in the South
Beyond this clarification, the visit aimed to lay organisational foundations for the Kiiiray party in the southern part of the country. Yankhoba Diémé welcomed the mobilisation of party activists and urged them to go beyond the gathering in order to strengthen the party's structure and expand it.
