Death of Cheikh Saad Bouh Ould Cheikh Mouhamed Takhiyoullah, former Khalif of the Khadres
Cheikh Saad Bouh Ould Cheikh Mouhamed Takhiyoullah, the ninth Khalif of the family of Cheikhna Cheikh Saad Bouh, has died in Dakar at the age of 96. He is to be buried in Nimzatt, Mauritania.
The Khadre community is mourning the death of Cheikh Saad Bouh Ould Cheikh Mouhamed Takhiyoullah, the General Khalif of the Khadres. He died at Dakar’s Principal Hospital at the age of 96, according to the family of Cheikhna Cheikh Saad Bouh.
The announcement was made by Cheikh Atkhana Aïdara, the family spokesperson. The deceased is to be buried in Nimzatt, Mauritania.
Ninth Khalif of the family
Known as “Yaguene” by Khadre disciples, Cheikh Saad Bouh Ould Cheikh Mouhamed Takhiyoullah became Khalif in 2022, following the death of Cheikh Aya Aïdara. He was the ninth Khalif of the Khadre community in Senegal and Mauritania.
Born on 30 August 1930, he was described by his family as an educator and a figure of mercy. During his khalifate, he worked in particular to bring together the various branches of the family of Cheikhna Cheikh Saad Bouh, based in Nimzatt, Dakar, Louga and Thiès.
A message focused on unity
During his travels, his teachings called on followers to remain united and continue their commitment to God and the Prophet Mohammad. The source also indicates that he studied in Mauritania with Serigne Mountakha Mbacké, the current General Khalif of the Mourides.
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye expressed his sadness and offered his condolences to the family, the Khadre community of Senegal and Mauritania, and the faithful.
Cheikh Sidy Bouya announced as new Khalif
Following his death, the khalifate passes to the eldest member of the family of Cheikhna Cheikh Saad Bouh. According to Chérif Alwalid Ould Chérif Atkhana Aïdara, Cheikh Sidy Bouya Ould Cheikh Hadrame Cheikh Bounana Ould Cheikh Saad Bouh becomes the new Khalif of the Khadres.
